I was just wondering to you bring out the shadows, mid-tones and highlights through an editing software, or settings on your scanner by any chance? I have been trying to figure out how to bring my pictures out more.
I think it's because there's a lot of negative space in this drawing which in itself gives a false illusion of brightness as some of the details such as parts of the skin and the outline of the face and clothes I have deliberately left out. I also exaggerate the highlights in the eyes with my erasers. I'd recommend Faber Castell Perfections or Derwent's electric eraser for those I hope this helps!
I see I have some drawings like that, but whenever I scan it...sadly the black-ish areas look gray. I should say the composition looks like different shades of gray. However, when I take a picture of it, you can see the differences. It just drives me crazy. I will look into those items you listed. I know my art supply store does not have a lot of Faber Castell products sadly T.T Which is a real disappointment LOL but this did help! Thank you so muchies!!!!
And thankies for adding that silly Hand Illusion to your favs haha
I scanned this with my old scanner but my new scanner is the opposite haha! It makes things ridiculously bright like this for example: [link]. Neither does the art shop near me haha! I bought them online off Amazon! pack of 2 for like £2. You're welcome!!
P.S. I think your Hand Illusion was great! not silly at all
Ahhhhh my family has bad experience with online shopping so I work with what we have here LOL and with the scanner I LOVE what it did to be honest I love the really bright look haha mine even cuts out the picture even though it can fit perfectly. I am thinking what is up with my scanner haha
And awe thanks it was a classmates project idea that we all had to do. Apparently mine was the only one that really worked, but I still don't see the illusion O.o
Maybe try changing the settings on your scanner? I don't quite know how to work my new one yet but on my old one it would allow you fix the settings even before it scans your picture! There must be somewhere where you can change the settings on your one have a little look around. Check if there's a program on you computer or something?
you dont see it?! I definitely see the illusion! & it looks really good
My dad was talking about that. I guess I will check that out when I print out the billions of pages for a portfolio LOL I think we have a program. Ever since getting the laptop I have no idea how to work the desktop anymore LOL
And really??? I wonder if I miss it because I just stare at it to much LOL The person whose assignment it was used plain white paper, while she gave us that tannish paper. I hated using that so much. Way to rough in my opinion LOL
happy holidays!
same to you!
I hope this helps!
